February 2025 Top 5 Artists

As promised, here is the next post. It is really difficult for me to pick favorites. This is true for many things in my life like foods, drinks, colors, internet browsers, tv streaming platforms, and the worst of them all, music.

I meant it when I said that I truly enjoy all genres of music. Rock, Country, Alternative, House, EDM, Dubstep, Rap, R&B, Blues, Alternative, Metal, Jazz…the list goes on. I love them all and it might be a little easier on my conscience to do a top 5 artists in each genre. It would give me an easy out to not have to narrow down all of music to a single top 5 list.

I know that no matter what I choose as my personal top 5, there will be some people who agree with my choices, and some who don’t. That’s cool. That’s kind of the whole point. Music is for everyone. There are so many different types to fit everyone’s different tastes.

I want to also note that I specifically labeled this post as February 2025 Top 5. I also said in my previous post that my musical inclinations tend to change quite often. My top 5 this month might not be the same next month.

Number 1: Manchester Orchestra

This band is likely to be the only consistent top 5 contender (and probably often number 1) on a month-to-month basis for me. This is the band that can always get me through a difficult time in my life. They are an alternative band from Atlanta that have kind of gained a cult-like following in the best way. Perhaps my next post will be a deeper dive into their discography and why it is so important to me.

Number 2: Aerosmith

The bad boys from Boston. I truly don’t recall the moment I fell in love with Aerosmith. I know it was a dream of mine to be able to see them live though. Sadly, it will remain a dream forever. I once had the chance to go to Rochester, NY and see them, but was unable to make it due to my work schedule. Now that Aerosmith is no longer performing I will regret my decision to go to work for the rest of time.

Number 3: Kendrick Lamar

K Dot. Performing at the Super Bowl this year. Won 5 Grammy awards being petty in a rap beef (that he won by the way. Try to @ me about it). Won the Pulitzer Prize for his album: DAMN. He is a genius when it comes to writing and storytelling through his music.

Number 4: Taylor Swift

I don’t think I need to elaborate here. Miss Americana. The biggest artist worldwide at the moment. Everyone is just waiting for Taylor’s versions of Debut and Reputation at this point.

Number 5: The Amity Affliction

Australian Metal band. A good healthy mix of screaming and singing. Lyrics that reflect lots of emotion and introspection. Probably my most surprising band on the top 5 for this month.

I think most people probably know 3/5 from this list. I would highly encourage everyone to check out the other 2. Manchester Orchestra and The Amity Affliction can both be found anywhere that you stream your music from regularly.

Feel free to pop in the comments a list of your top 5 artists this month. Maybe it’ll give me (or others) a chance to listen to something brand new. If you’ve made it this far, I love you. Until next time….
